"Toto, I don't think we're in the Sierra Nevada any more."
We're off... on the way to Yellowstone... by way of the Pacific Ocean of course!
Saw a sign to the falls on Interstate 5, and made the short hike!
We caught sunset at Harris Beach in Oregon last night, but the coast is gray so we're heading to Redwood National Park, then most likely towards Crater Lake.
Welcome to my photo travel blog. I am a landscape and night photographer who conducts photography workshops in some of America’s most exotic landscapes. I just completed a travel guide to the best landscape photography locations in Southern California, to be available in September 2015.

Hedge Creek Falls

We discovered that sweet little falls a number of years ago, when we were actively seeking "little places" to break up the otherwise long drive from Stockton/Modesto to Medford, OR for family visits.
ReplyDeleteI think we learned of it either in a waterfalls book, a postcard, or a note on display at the Fish Hatchery in Mt. Shasta City. We found a reference to it being called the "million dollar waterfall" because it was to have been obliterated by the widening of I-5, and after the locals complained loudly, CalTrans redesigned the stretch of freeway to miss it, adding $1 M to the freeway upgrade pricetag.
Every drive north or south now includes a brieft stop here to savor the sweet little waterfall.
